Abstract

The EV burners with double cone are investigated numerically for NO x reduction by evaluation of the mixing characteristics with the parameter of the modified unmixedness. In case 1, where fuel is injected from the top of the burner, unmixedness inside the burner has been reduced or improved. Experimental and numerical results showed Nx Oreduction by 13% and 5%, respectively. The reduction of the unmixedness resulted in decreased NOx emission. These numerical results showed that NOx reduction can be attained by mixing enhancement inside the burner.
