• Reverberation and scattering by rough boundaries
• Underwater acoustic propagation including time varying acoustic channel by travelling surface wave
• Sonar signal processing for target detection and localization using compressive sensing and machine/deep learning

Major Research Achievements

• Developing an acoustic propagation model considering 3-D scattered effects by rough surface with sound refraction in water medium
• Modeling and analyzing reverberation signals by range-dependent sea bottom with a self-developed reverberation model.
• Contriving advanced sonar signal processing: sound speed profile estimator using compressive sensing and automatic target detector using machine learning
